INDANG, CAVITE | October 5, 2026 — EMV Flower Farm welcomed His Excellency Roderick Wols, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Philippines, for a visit to its farm in Indang, Cavite. Joining him were Mrs. Nene Wols and Ms. Patricia Alvendia.

The visit gave EMV Farm Corporation an opportunity to share its journey in flowers and its work to grow premium roses under Philippine conditions. Founder Ronald Cudiamat welcomed the guests and presented the story behind the farm’s Holland roses: a project that began with an unexpected connection and developed through years of conversation, partnership, and a willingness to try something new.

Learning to grow in a new climate

Growing these roses in a tropical climate has required close observation and continual adjustment. During the presentation, EMV shared some of the challenges it has faced, from greenhouse conditions to the changing needs of the plants. The farm also reflected on a milestone that made those efforts tangible: the first bloom of its Holland roses in Indang.

The guests then visited the rose greenhouse to see the plants and discuss the project firsthand. Oscar Niezen of CoHort Consulting, a partner in EMV’s rose project, joined the visit. Dr. Ruel Mojica of Cavite State University was also welcomed as EMV explores opportunities to connect its work with agricultural research.

Growing flowers and connections

For EMV, the day was a chance to share both its progress and the learning still ahead. The rose project brings together Dutch horticultural experience and Philippine growers working to adapt it to local conditions.

EMV Farm Corporation thanks Ambassador Wols, Mrs. Wols, and Ms. Alvendia for spending time at the farm and taking an interest in its journey. From its roots in flower farming to its continuing work with roses, EMV hopes to keep growing flowers, knowledge, and meaningful connections in Indang.
